So You Want To Understand Us Women A Little Better Do You?

This post is directed at the husbands of the world that think their wives are nuts for the hyper frenzied cleaning mode they go into before relatives arrive.
First and foremost do not say to us, "No one is going to notice how clean the house is, because they are coming to enjoy your company."  Absolutely do not make jokes about, "What's that dust bunny going to do under the bed, come out and attack Aunt Jo?  If it does I bet Aunt Jo beats it into a pile of dust in 1.1 seconds."
Men you are that men.  Women do really check out other women's homes and realize if they are clean or dirty and actually do think thoughts like: 'Wow, is it safe to touch that gross looking faucet handle to wash my hands in this gas station looking bathroom.  I wish I had a can of Clorox spray with me right now.'
It's in our nature.  We internally fret when our homes are not clean all the time, but somehow if it's just our immediate family being exposed to our lack of desire to clean, tiredness, health issues or bad attitude then we can somehow make mental excuses to let it slide another day, okay another week if truth be told.  Yet,
if we know it's another adult female that is coming to our home, or the pastor of the church, then WOW (Woman Overdrive Work) kicks in.    We realize we have x amount of things to do to make our home presentable.  With only a certain amount of time to do this in, either help or get out of the way.  Do you want
extra favors or a special meal during this time period, fine then either do it yourself or call Domino's Pizza for
home delivery.
We women wish you men where born with this gene.  Now for those of you women who have a husband who
understands and seems himself to have this gene, then you need to give your mother-in-laws a high five for instilling these learned traits in their son.  I say learned because there is no way they were born with them, that's strictly a female thing.
I am sorry for those men who have a wife that does not seem to have been born with this gene at all.  She was born with it, but somehow these traits have been unlearned in her at some point.  If it's getting to you well all I have to say is tell it to the talk shows, hire Merry Maids, and roll up your own sleeves  if you want a clean home or at least one that's not like the show Hoarder's on TV.
I bet you're wondering how my home looks at the moment.  Well, everything is picked up and put away in the rooms a visitor would see, but they still need dusted, vacuumed and moped.  Yet, I'm not expecting any company, if I were you could believe this house would be clean.
I was inspired to write this post after  reading the blog post at In Through The Out Door.

5K A Week I Can Live With That.

Okay, you may think I'm crazy.  I have been entering Publisher's Clearing House for major years.  I won't tell you exactly how long, but it's been really a long time.
Do I really believe I will win?  Yes I do.  I think the law of averages has to someday fall that giant prize right into my wide lap.  I realize it's a few billion to one shot, but the win has to come to someone someday and it might as well be me.  That means I am diligent in entering.  I generally enter at least once a day.
I'd love to pay off every single bill we owe.  To fix up the things that need to be fixed up.  To get some of the things I constantly tell myself "No it's not in the budget."
I know I'll have to keep my husband in line if we won so he wouldn't spend it all so quickly that we wouldn't have the money to pay tithe to God or taxes to the government.  I generally think he is pretty level headed, but who knows in such a situation how he would react.  I'm pretty sure he'd go and buy a new vehicle and fix up the garage.
There would be so many things a person could do with $5,000 a week for life even if after tithe and taxes where you only had about $2,000 left.
Be honest have you ever played the what if game?  What if I won the Publisher's Clearing House $5,000 a week for life game?  I'll be honest I have.
It actually reminds me of a game me and my younger sister played when we were little girls.  My mom would give us the big Sears Catalog when she was done with it.  Sis and I would pretend we each had $10,000 and then we'd circle what we would buy from the catalog and add up the prices to make sure we didn't go over the amount of pretend money we had to spend.  She'd circle in red ink and me in blue ink.
I think she was a better shopper and had better taste in clothing than I did even way back then.
Well, while I'm waiting for Publisher's Clearing House to knock at my dirty home's door (I so wish I could get the energy to vacuum, dust, mop etc.), I'll just keep cutting coupons and trying to find the best deals out there.  Yet, I'd probably still use coupons even when, not if, when I win, because it's in my blood.  Giving up using coupons would probably be as painful to me as someone who smoked having to give up their cigarettes.  You laugh?  I'm pretty sure it would be to me.
God Bless.
P.S.  Publisher's Clearing House Knock Hard at my door because sometimes the crazy doorbell doesn't want to ring.

After All Were A Family Even If States Separate Us And Internet Dreams Do Too.

Wow, just a few minutes ago I found out that my nephew's wife is starting her own little business on the great world wide web.
Congrats Angela.  I know people are going to be buying your great homemade sweets and enjoying them as much as your friends and family do.  I can tell from your Facebook page that this is where you truly shine and what you are constantly doing.
So I salute you, send you good luck and will even say a prayer that many good things await your business venture.
Here is the internet address for all of those who might like to take a look at her first two edibles she has online

Poor Duchess is sick!

We took our new dog (a German shepard, maybe a little husky mixed in) that we got from the animal shelter on Wednesday to our vet today.  Poor doggy since we got her every time she sleeps she ends up having episodes where she starts choaking, then shakes because she's scared.  These choaking episodes were lasting about five minutes.  I was so scared for her too.  Then after the choaking episodes she'd have sneezing episodes.  Well the vet thinks it's just an upper respiratory infection and she choaks on the post nasal drips.  So she put her on antibiotics for 10 days.  We can't put the antibiotics in pork products or cheese.  I just wrapped them up in a little soft bread to get her to take them.  So she's now had her first two doses.  I sure hope this helps.  I haven't had good sleep now for 3 days.  She also got her other shots she needed since the animal shelter only gave her a one year rabies vaccine.  We asked the vet if we could get her the dog influenza vaccine, but our vet doesn't give those.  We know one city away is having an outbreak of it with the dogs in their region.
My husband was nice enough to watch the dogs this afternoon since it was his day off, but he worked last night and was tired too.  I was able to get a much needed two hour nap.  I can't believe how well that nap worked at helping me to get rid of the headache I've had for three days now.
All of the dogs have blended into a nice little family now and get along very well.
We have alot to teach Duchess.  She does sit when told, but doesn't know how to heal, how to get in and out of vehicles.  We ended up having to lift her in and out today to get her to the vet.  We have a dog ramp to get our dogs in and out of the Jeep Liberty, but she's afraid of it even with coaching. Hopefully in time she'll get better.  We had a short walk out with all the dogs.  She ignored most of the dogs barking at her from back yards of others, but two dogs she wanted to go to.  My husband had to take quit a bit of effort
to keep her on track near those yards.
Today is her last day of pain pills post the spaying on Wednesday morning at the animal shelter.  She seems to be doing well and doesn't look like she's in pain.  I'm kind of glad the pain pills will be over because I wonder if they might make her too relaxed and that might be part of the choaking issue.
I don't think she was ever given treats by her former owner.  Anytime the last three days we've tried to give her a dog bone she'll turn her head away.  She does eat her dry dog food just fine.  The vet even tried to give her a treat and said she knew what I meant after the dog turned her head away from her fancier treats.
She's now asleep on the extra large orthopedic dog bed that is right beside this computer table.  I hope she doesn't choak tonight.
The vet doesn't think our other dogs will get sick from her since they are in good health and had all the extra  shots in early August this year.  Yet, if they do we'll take them in.
We can get Duchess her Bordello (I think that is how it's spelled) shot after she's finished with her antibiotics. We go to the dog park, so it's recommended.
My husband fell asleep in the recliner.  I think I'll leave him alone for a bit.  Poor thing he worked last night and then stayed up instead of going to bed at all today.
Well, I'll sign off for now and wish everyone out there a good nights rest and a happy rest of the weekend.
God Bless.

A Little About Me, but not everything.

This is going to be a simple first time post today.
I have never had a blog before and  I don't have
any computer programming degrees.  So bear
with me as I try and do the best I can and learn
along the journey.
I am a married Christian woman.  I love my husband.
I love my step-son, though at the moment he is living
with his biological mother in another state far away.
We have three dogs, one we are picking up from the
animal shelter today after she's spayed.
With the new dog addition to our family we will have
a large sized dog, a medium and a small.
I no longer work due to multiple health problems.
My husband is quite a bit older than me, but is still
working.  He is a retired Marine, but once a Marine
always a Marine, at least in their hearts.
Well that's all I will post for today, more later.
